In addition to this virtual thesis (welcome!) and associated digital assets, the Deshonesty universe also includes an interactive installation as part of the Arts and Humanities 2022 Graduate Exhibition at the Manetti Shrem Museum on display from June 2-19. Key components from that installation are featured here, including a database-style “catalog” of all Deshonesty artifacts on display.
Deshonesty at the Shrem features the following experiences:
First view of the Deshonesty exhibition looking down a long hallway that leads around a corner — the walls are covered in canvas panels with photos, stickies, and tape stuck to them. Several strings of Polaroid photos cross the hall overhead.
View of the corner of the exhibit — two canvas-covered walls meet. There’s a pink writing desk with the DARB 1000-X display directly in front of one of the walls. On the second wall, there are monitors showing videos alongside the SOTL research poster.
Second view of the exhibit corner, with a slightly better view of the wall with the video monitors and the SOTL poster. Papier Mâché string letters hang overhead, spelling out “DESHONESTY.”
Closeup view of the pink writing desk, featuring the DARB 1000-X desk display, the guest book, the course materials binder, and the design ontologies binder. A pink crewneck with Trace’s nametag hangs off the white rolling chair. There’s a pink salamander plushie that says “Axolotl questions.”
